THE SURROUNDINGS - Landscapes, excursions and activities

You will discover a beautiful area , beautiful scenery, wilderness , a protected and generous nature.

Many natural sites of great beauty are close to our place: the Ardèche plateau full of with daffodils in late winte , Mount Gerbier de Jonc (source of the Loire) , the Waterfall of Ray- Pic, Lake Issarlès ...

For those who decide to drive a bit further, the Ardèche Gorges are a great excuse for a day trip.

Our region has a rich industrial past, especially around the silk industry.

In the only valley Glueyre , fifteen old sil fabrics testify to the intense past industrial activity. You can visit the impressive room of the throwing machines in La Neuve (Marcols les Eaux, 5 minutes from Mournet).

There was a time when the Ardèche also had its passenger trains! The only trace of these old times is Le Mastrou , pretty little steam train which will drive you from Lamastre to Tournon, meandering in the heart of charming valleys.

Many hiking trails are also used to radiate around the area and surrounding villages (Le Don Trail , Le Rocher de Corbière, les gorges de la Glueyre gorges, the old Dragonnades road between Le Cheylard and Privas ... )

Driving 10 minutes from our Domaine, you will reach the charming village of Saint Pierreville, its lively market on Sunday morning , its cobbled streets and its listed church , you will learn about the Combale (famous variety of chestnut ).

In St Pierreville, The Chestnut House is open all year. La Fabrique du Pont Aleyrac , a former silk fabric offers exhibitions ( paintings, photographs, sculptures) of high quality. Ardelaine, the living museum of wool and sheep, invites you to discover the wool work today and in the past.

Varied and numerous activities are also easily accessible from our Domaine.

We will be happy to help you organize your stay according to your interests, age of your children ...

So you can go canoeing on river Eyrieux, discover its gorges by canyoning, sharing a good time with family in tree climbing, or go biking on the old railway line between Saint Sauveur de Montagut and Cheylard, unless you prefer a leisurely treck with our donkeys.

For our cycling friends, the region is nicely mountainous and offers courses of varying difficulty.

In winter, the plateau offers many opportunities : snowshoeing, cross country skiing and downhill skiing.
